Mrs. Angie Thompson’s first and second-grade students used their MEF grant funding to purchase an incubator and supplies to hatch several baby chicks!

“What a magical week watching these little lives work so hard to break their way into our class,” says Thompson. “We learned so much about raising and caring for chickens.”

She goes on to say that she tied this experience to a class novel, Love Ruby Lavender, along with the first-grade science core.
